About:
CMBA Trail Night 1 is Monday, June 13th, and it's in Fish Creek, Calgary! The trail building nights are great for when you have an evening free to do some building, or don't have time for a full day. In fact, some of our best work has been done on Monday nights! Usually these groups are a little bit smaller and less formal. We work for about 2 to 3 hours on a trail close to the parking lot.
Details:
Fish Creek was hit hard with rain a few weeks back, and we are on the job to fix the damaged trails! A section of trail along the creek edge was washed away. We will be cutting trail to replace that lost section.
No experience at trail building is necessary! There will be plenty of experienced and trained Crew Leaders in attendance who you will be grouped with. They will teach and guide you while you craft that perfect single track trail.
We like to get started promptly at 6:30PM, so please be on time. We will work for about 2 to 3 hours and then head back to the parking area. As trail building work can be energy consuming, do bring water plus a snack or lunch to eat while out on the trail.
Be sure to bring/wear the following:
- Good sturdy work boots or hiking boots (no sandals or open toe shoes!)
- Work gloves (though we do have a number of extra if you need them)
- Eye protection (safety or sports sun glasses)
- Jacket that is wet weather resistant (it is July, but it can suddenly start raining or get cold fast)
- Long pants
- Bug spray and sun screen
- Water to drink and a snack to eat while out on the trail
We have plenty of pro-quality tools for everyone to use.
So come on out to our FIRST trail building night of the year, meet some new people (and maybe old friends), have some fun, and help shape the trails that we all love to ride! We'll see you this Monday!
